MEET THE OWNER

Hi, I’m Kelly Hopkins, the owner of Design Roof Services LLC, a licensed roofing company serving the Carlsbad community.

I graduated from Carlsbad High, and then from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) in 1983. Then I went to work for Republic Supply Co providing explosives and mining supplies to operations throughout New Mexico.

After three years with Republic Supply, I joined Tremco, Incorporated, an international manufacturer of roofing and waterproofing materials based out of Cleveland, Ohio. Starting in Albuquerque, NM I was transferred to El Paso, Tx to cover the West Texas and Mexico market areas. In 1991 I transferred to Houston, Tx as an Area Manager, and a year later to Southern California as a Regional Manager. I worked the last 13 years with Tremco in Northern California serving the Bay Area.

After spending twenty-five years with Tremco, I took an early retirement and went to work for Progressive Roofing Co., a national roofing contractor with headquarters in Phoenix, AZ, where I specialised in Federal Government contracts across the country.

By 2013, I’d been in the roofing industry for nearly three decades, and witnessed a rapid increase in technology. Surprisingly, while there were now products & systems available with the potential to restore roofs to long-term performance, many companies failed to grasp the benefits, and instead continually replaced roofs that had the potential to be restored.

It inspired me to return to my hometown of Carlsbad, New Mexico, and start a company of my own. My goal was to be a roofing resource to both homeowners and businesses in my community by conducting quality inspections, maintenance, repairs, restorations, as well as re-roofing projects.

I operate from an account-based perspective to provide customized solutions to my clients’ requirements. In addition, I enjoy meeting and interacting with people, as I endeavor to deliver roofing “Peace of Mind”.

I work with integrity, and as an individual. I believe what sets me apart from the others is my honesty and my technical accuity, which helps me to render value-added services. I measure success when I can solve customers’ problems and complete projects that exceed their expectations.

When I’m not repairing and restoring roofs, I'm working on my equipment rentals to the oilfield. I cherish time with family & friends, like to play golf, and travel to beautiful places. I also enjoy donating to charities that support research on colon cancer, Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and breast cancer.
